Hey guys!
Just posting to see what radar detectors work for state police. I have a Escort Passport 8500 and I like to go fast on highways. However I have noticed that every time I pass a state police car it NEVER picks them up! I talked to this guy with a S4 at our last cruise(sorry forgot your name). He has a valentine one and says it works no problem. Can anyone confirm this?? Does anyone also know what kind of radar they use, is it laser? I know the escort picks up laser but it much suck balls, since I just got a $236 ticket in Wisconsin. On this ticket it says the cought me with "laser". It didn't even chip!

My only speeding ticket is from state police using laser. I had an Escort Solo S2 wireless radar detector that worked great but I got busted from laser going over a hill on I-94 going 78 in a 55. My radar/laser detector picked it up, but basically by the time you sense Laser, it's too late. The only thing you can legally do is be more careful over hills, turns, and places like that where they could hide out. There are laser jammers out there that I've heard work pretty well, but they are illegal.
V1s are great radar detectors, but they're just the same as everything else when it comes to laser.

I was told my by uncle (whom is a Cop in Texas and is currently in town) that 60% of their cars have radar guns in them, they're not looking for speeders as much as they are looking for people doing really illegal things or blowing reds, not stopping etc. Thats why a lot of times you'll go past a cop and you'll think that you should be screwed but they don't seem to give a rats ass. at least thats true for the most part. Still, Valentine 1 is your best bet, or one of those laser jammer things that are definitely illegal.

if the state police are using radar guns then yes, it will.. and the radar detector that you have should work fine for that. but most state police i've seen use laser, which is detected by V1s as well as a lot of detectors.. but like i said.. once you're hit with laser you're pretty much screwed already. the only choice you have is to be careful or get a laser jammer. |
