T6, one more cylinder, one more turbo...

« on: January 17, 2008, 06:29:46 PM »

Well, I did the DIY lip mod as noted at this link. I used my dremel to drill a small pilot hole, then used screws to hold it in and it worked really well.

Tell me what you think, it's not hard rubber, it seems really foamy, but its REALLY strong, you cannot just rip it (except maybe Tom can, if two teenagers can't do something Tom can...)

Wow Bill... I care about your car...jk.

But seriously, this is totally worth the 9 bucks I spent on it and it almost looks OEM.

Looks really good... now if you painted it white along with the parts above it, it would look amazing Grin

If it was a darker black (and more glossy) that matched the trim above it, then I would agree.

Michael also suggested painting it black, I'm not sure its a material that can be painted though... Mind you its dirty in those pictures, I'll take it to the car wash today or tomorrow and get it cleaner, or maybe a hand-wash in the garage tonight... I think with the trim being black it looks really good black, because if it was white then the bumper would go white black white and especially in the middle of the bumper where there is a bit of the black of the original bumper showing there would be a stripe of black that I think would look out of place.

I really need to, but I think it may be more than just that, and unless you're down low, you really don't notice it, but as soon as you get down its like WHOA bent up, ya know? I need to try to clamp it back in place or something, but I'm not sure a heat gun will warm it up enough to make it pliable enough and make it hold where I move it to. Especially if I'm trying to heat it up from the freezing cold temperature it is at now.
