I Know I'm a lame ass for doing so... But I hate the dub scene recently. I know you guys had a fall out with another site recently as well too. Well back home (Ohio) there was a fall out about 3 years ago that caused an amazing dub scene to completely fall apart, and after that there have been about 3 other falling outs. I want to get people together for the love of the car, differences aside. Just that one common factor DUBS. Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lambo, VW, hell even ANY german/euro car is welcome here. I just want to get the "scene" back together, and get some bitchin' G2G's... in the Midwest... I hate how there is H2O and Waterfest, out on the East coast. And there is Treffen here, but CVO is having there own problems (no offence to anyone on here that belongs to them, they just have a "clique" there and don't like new ppl). So here it is, I am just trying something new with this. It's starting as a Facebook group. If I get enough interest I'll drop some dime for a website, full service site. Places to upload pictures and create your own car profile with forums. Something kinda like a "mini 'tex" w/o all the pricks from the 'tex. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=9602776677I'm not trying to tear apart any sites, just help them grow. By getting people from other areas see where everyone else comes from I feel that we can all grow our sites and get to know people who we never thought we would. Any thoughts?

Why? Thats why Illinois Euro was created. We have had many bad ass gtg's. It's winter now, the weather sucks and nobody wants to go out. When the weather gets good again you will see some bad ass gtg's again. If you want to try and create another community thats your thing. I just don't see the need, unless you are trying to create a vw only thing.

But this is condemned to Illinois. Same problem we had back home. You seclude yourself geographically then you'll have no interest. I want people from all over the midwest to get together. With me being from Ohio I belong to forums out there, all 5 to be exact. And all 5 are falling apart because they are all so strung far apart they can't get a good get together going. You don't have to flame it, though.
And BTW, you've not seen a "bad ass gtg" until you've seen waterfest, h2oI, or the dubdash (just to name a few)

I happen to be one of the owners of IllinoisEuro, and I have to mention that I have been to Waterfest, and was featured in the Audiworld.com booth in 2005 - I have also been to many other "events" like that and none of the ones you had mentioned are bad ass gtg's - they are "EVENTS" - they have car shows, auto-x, dyno runs, and lots of booths, none of which you will see at any "gtg" in this area, except for Treffen (which I won first place in my class 2 years in a row - lol) again, Treffen is a weekend event, not a gtg. Regardless, this site seems to working just fine, and we would never deny someone just because they live in Ohio or Wisconsin or any other state or even any other country - so, seclusion is not a problem. Please, come out to a meet, hang out with some friendly people that love cars and enjoy But this is condemned to Illinois. Same problem we had back home. Being new I can only go off what I have seen over the last month but I think that that month pretty much sums up life here on this board. Things here have a lot less attitude and generally feel friendlier. I kind of like the idea that this is a local board. If I want to look for something outside of this group I go off to the bigger boards and head to their regional sections to find meets and GTG's. I also belong to a car club in my case BMWCCA which allows me take part in not only local events but also the nationals as well. Don’t take this wrong feel free to do your own thing but the guys here seem to like being here because it’s local.

I tend to agree with Eric. But for me, I am forumed out. I have two bimmer only sites that I frequent and then a six series only site as well as here at home on IE. I also check into a sports car forum that is an international level board. Any more and I'll never get anything done at work. ~Adam
