I found another but Im not sure how much work it woud take to repair the bits of rust. Otherwise its an 86 es with 155k. The guy posted it on eurotekniks. It appears to have really nice paint, minus the shitty parts around the rust spots. "Hi all, My name is Josh Hawke and I have a red 1986 325es E30 Coupe with black leather interior for sale. It has ~155K miles and runs great.
I am asking $2,200 or best offer for the car, here is a description of the cars condition and things that have been done to the car that has been done since I have owned the Vehicle.
I have two sets of wheels/tires winter/summer and many extra parts that go with it. It has upgraded (not hacked) suspension, camber kit, shocks etc... It is a blast to drive and would in my opinion be a great base for an autocross car as it handles great. I bought Ivan’s 328i, so this one has to go to make room as well, to have some money to do some work on the e36.
It has been a great car, but does have a couple issues, as follows... Needs new summer tires, at least 2 of them. The cruise control has been disconnected because it was chattering. The driver’s seat has a tear, but is still functional and comfortable. The car comes with high quality stereo equipment but the head unit for the cd changer has been removed b/c it was believed to be no longer working but when it was it sounded great. So with a new head unit and the checking and reconnecting of the installed equipment it will sound great. The AC is no longer cold. I have not had it recharged since I have bought the car (I am the cars 2nd Owner) so I am not sure if it just need to be recharged to make it work again or not. Also the cars onboard computer display which reads exterior temperature, average speed, etc is no longer working properly so reading a -30 degrees C may be a problem for the AC as well. As for that there are just two minor rust spots on the edges of the rear of the car as well as a spot behind the front driver wheel by that jack point which may want to be fixed.
As for things that have been done to the car: I just had new rear brakes installed about a month ago now and the fronts are recently new since they were replaced just last fall. As well last summer I had a new stock exhaust installed on the car from the catalytic converter back since the old one was in dire need of replacement. As well I have kept good general maintenance the vehicle and have had no problems except for what as listed above. sound like a decent deal?

It says $2200 OBO, I would offer him $1600 - 1700 and see if he bites, at the most I would pay up to $2k if I really liked it, but that would be up to you of course.
btw, greatest body shop in the world - A & L Auto Body in Palatine - Only place I will bring the TT!

Body work ... has to be done by someone who has the proper equipment. Anthony does great work, and does it for a price that is below others, I have had him do work for me. Dont do any work half assed, get it done right. IMHO.

you guys have to remember I am a good 5 hrs or so from chicago. If someone wanst to play host one weekend while I drive up and check stuff out that would be choice. But I dont see that trip happening for a few weeks. I move into stl on the 23rd and then have several weeks working 6days a week of training at the new job. They do however look to be fine options.

Or me, I have a house too - lol
Seriously though, it looks as though this area obviously has more of what you want - between us we will find somewhere for you to stay!

I have been thinking about my choices for a project and I am thinking I may go old school vw with a mk2 golf/gti. Maybe even mk1. I think that an old Vdub may be cheaper to work on on the side.
