K, I'm going to scrap my Jetta project...make it stock, sell it to someone who wants a clean car.....And.....Build a 73-79 Bug...Looking for hardtops, no engine is a plus, clean body, solid body, cage preferred Tongue Post any finds here. Help is appreciated. I have a limited budget but I figure I can spend about 4 grand on a shell....which should be a pretty decent start since I will be building something stupid Smiley

how is it that me (16 years old) comes across ever car that 'no one can find'

You guys arent looking in the right places.  I almost bought a nicely lowered, rust free, fresh paint (white) superbeetle, with fully re-done interior, on mini-light wheels with brand new tires, with a weber carb/exhaust system for 4K when i was like 14, but i didnt  Huh?

IK of a beetle that would fit your description, im going to try buy it though mwahahahaha

Though, i do know of a fully restored rat rod beetle for sale for 8stacks.  It was rubbed down to bare sheet metal, i saw it all be done step by step.

Oh, I've found them, but most needed more body work then I wanted to deal with. I've found a clean shell for $2500 in N.C. that my buddies brother knows about. It's already caged, has up to date safety equipment and a 100% rust free body, also it has the 3" winder fenders for rear and 2" up front. I'm waiting on pics. This could be the car.....no engine though which is fine. They are dirt cheap to buy plus I will be doing some internal work so a running car is sort of a waste of money in my eyes haha. I'll post pics once I get them and get some opinions.

I called the guy about the bug in N.C. Turns out it has a drag spec cage in it.....so I am going to pass. I need a road course cage which is different and needs to be of spec if I want to run in a class. If he didn't weld it in then things would be different. Also....I might go look at a 914 in lime green this weekend. There is one not to far away sitting in an old lot. Gonna try and track the owner down for some dealing.

P.S. only considering 73-79 beetles. No exceptions Tongue I want more suspension options....
