Me, not so much. I have been eating everything crappy for as long as I have been alive.

I eat almost all crappy food all the time, I never take vitamins, I dont work out, and I smoke a ton.

What about you? Are you considered a healthy person?

BTW, last time I went to a doctor, he told me that I am in perfect health amazingly, no cholesterol issues, no irregular heartbeat, no nothing bad, not even one thing! Great height/weight ratio and everything! We will all die eventually, healthy or not, and I just figure that my quality of life is great right now, so why mess it up?

Please, discuss!

Well, I used to eat garbage all the time.  But now I run three times a week for 40 minutes, do my sit ups and push ups, and try to eat as much healthy food as I can.  One of my family members just had bypass surgery at 54 and it really opened my eyes up.  You would be amazed at how much more energy and stamina you have after just a short run or work out.  It was really hard to cut fried foods out of my diet though. I think thats great for you - but for me, I think we are all going to die anyway, and its all about the quality of life, and if I gave up my "eating" lifestyle, I think I would be miserable for a long time!

Igrea up in the house of big people.  Father and brother both well over 300 and Im about 200 now in my completely lazy state.  As long as I dont get sloppy like them Ill be happy enough.  I have a feeling the new wifey will keep me a bit healthier in the food I eat and exercise I get.  I dont see going above and beyond what I do now.

I go to my Gym (X-Sport) @ 6 am approximately 4-5 days a week. WHY? I love it! Nothing makes me feel better than lifting weights, running, swimming and for me climbing (Rock Wall) in the morning. My overall energy is very abnormal and working out balances out the rest of my day (Not to mention, it is the best stress relief...PERIOD!).

I was a Gymnast for 16 years and the 1989 & 1990 State Champion, before a bad Shoulder injury took me away from the sport. I guess I never lost the desire to continue to lift weights and work out. I am not out to be the biggest, strongest or fittest...It just makes me feel good and that is why I do it.

As far as food, I generally only eat lean meats. I am certainly not going to edit myself on every meal, I just eat within reason and try to stay healthy. I do all the cooking for my wife and myself and it allows me to control what we eat on a daily basis. i have been at the same weight for 12 years and my metabolism is extremely high for my age (34).

I am certainly not judging people who do not work out, it just works with my lifestyle!

Hello hubby

I think that I am physically pretty healthy! I like the way I feel after a good workout, particularly with weights because I like to feel stronger. I also think that producing seretonin (the happy hormone!) naturally with workouts is a good way to stay balanced. I have always liked to challenge myself physically by trying new things, running, kickboxing, aerobics of all kinds, and the bowflex.  I also like to dabble in yoga and pilates. It's amazing what you can achieve if you push yourself a little!

All I know is that it would be SOOOO great if you would become a complete health nut and we could run or hike together someday.  I think your positive outlook is what has been keeping the affects of your "abuse" to your body at bay, honestly.   I'd like you to be physically healthy but I think emotional health is just as important. I can teach you how to take care of your body more, and you can teach me how to relax a little!

Love you

I used to work out minimum 4 times a week and run.  In the last two years though I fractured a vertebra in my lower back and have a Herniated disc so the doctor said take it easy for a while.  Well 35 lbs later he says you have to excersise more because the extra weight is stressing out your back.  No offense to any dr's (if any) but I don't have alot of faith in doctors.

Oh yeah, I need knee surgery on my right knee because of a torn meniscus (sp?).

Needless to say I have started working out again (2 weeks strong so far) and can honestly agree dasgti and can say I feel like I have more energy.

I had a check-up not to long ago as well and the dr said "suprisingly" everything looks good.

Well that's my health story.
