Hello Guys,

Just a show of interest, I would like to see how many of you would love to have the ability to have your cars custom tuned apposed to a standard chip?

There are 2 ways we are thinking about,
1. Going with unitronics chipped, which about a year from now will allow us to custom tune their maps.

2. Using a module that will allow us to custom tune on the spot.

Also for all the guys that do not currently have tunning on your cars, please post your comments as well, what will you do?

Will cost of a custom tune, stop you from going this route?

Remember that with a chip you would need to keep upgrading it and do what the chip tuner asks for on your car, or when you have some upgrades and mods done you can just get your car retuned to spec.

All of your replies would be greatly considered and appreciated.

I've always wanted to tune my car... Simply tuning my car would make a LOT more power, but cost and concerns for my transmission have kinda stopped me. Most of the good chips out there for my car are close to a grand which is too much for me right now. However, I might be interested in a custom tune this summer if it's available somewhat cheap. Keep us posted!

Nice, its good to hear how you guys feel thanks much for your inputs. But mulletguy its hard for the euro guys to understand that, because it is all we are used to, nothing but chips on the market today. But we shall see what happens down the line here.

I am interested but $$ is a big factor.  I am fairly happy with the performance of my car but I know dialing it in would make it even more pleasurable to drive.  So far all the software available for my car has very minimal gains in performance for the money.  So that is basically why I have not done anything yet.

this is precisely why I can't decide between which ecu remap, ie; softloader and the company's software.  IPD, Evolve, Heico and a few others are out there for my c30 but a true custom tune would be the best, esp. if I could do it myself with a laptop and obdII connection/connector... I'd want to be able to reprogram it myself, rather than deal with a tuners schedule/ payments.

Right now I have a GIAC-X chip, but if I decide to go BT or BAT I would definitly need to get some custom tuning. So it would be good to have a shop near the Chicago area that could offer that.
