Well I bought a new car over the weekend.

1984 volvo 242 GLT.    4 Speed manual, turbo, rwd.

The car runs AMAZING. It needs a little bit of work, but looks very rough around the edges.
As for serious rust. None.
Surface rust, yes, but as some of you may know... that is not too big an issue.

Here are a few of the better pics.




The trunklid is being replaced, the rear bumper and the tail light.  The rear window is also being replaced, and have the all the parts as well Smiley

Small history behind the car:
It was in a garage fire, that attacked the right rear side of it.  Before the fire it was restored. :-(  It was garage kept for the most part as well.


So after thoroughly checking it over for anything more severe than surface rust, there is none. 

Most if not all the repair/restore work will be done myself.

It isn't really a junkyard, it is a guys personal .. um.. collection Smiley heh

As for price, I won't say because I know there will be some naysayers.  It wasn't over 2k.

nice find, good luck with the project and do u know what model that S70 was behind the 242? Smiley

I believe the S70 was an NA.  Didn't pay much attention... he sold it already hehe. 


If all goes well for this car, it will be riding veeeeerrrry low Smiley
