anyways im heading down to evansville, IN for an engineering competition. now i see two options, bite the bullet and go through chicago or just swing out and take I-39 to avoid chicago all together.

we would be leaving milwaukee around 1030ish so mabye hitting northshore about an hour after that. what would the traffic be like at that hour on a thursday? or would it just be worth it to go around?

i have very bad memories of road trips that took us through chicago aka going to michigan many times.

and the specific date we would be going is April 24th, any special events in the city that would cause more people to be on the roads?

thanks.

11:30 on a Thursday should be no issue. Might get slightly backed up close to the loop, but it shouldn't be bad at all.

just keep on mind that I94 both ways from Lake COok to Ciecero or maybe a little farther is all 2 lanes because of construction. So with that said if you want to go throught the city take 294 till I90 and then swing down to I94. Should save you some time.

they finished the road work on 294? and it looks like anyways that i might chance it going 94 to 90 then off south onto 57. im figuring that there wont be that much traffic at 1130 or so on a thursday. but if anyone knows bad spots of construction let me know. thanks everyone. and fyi if u are on the roads thursday and u see a black volvo s70 fly past you, its probably me Cheesy
