Well you folks have not seen me around much because I have rekindled my love for motorcycles again.  Most likely the cause is my son is riding now.  I did take a break from riding for about 10 years while my kids were growing up.  I think I have only put on about 550 miles on the Z this summer.  I have been riding almost everyday mostly back and forth from work.  My original intention was just to purchase a cheap bike to ride a bit with my son while he was learning to ride.

My son picked up a 2006 H-D XL883R

So after we got his bike I decided I had to get something cheap to ride with him.  So I picked up a 1991 Kawasaki Concours (before adam did).

After riding a few days the addiction kicked back in and both my son and me decided we needed a project motorcycle.  So after scouring the net for two weeks we found a 1976 Kawasaki KZ900 with only 8k miles That had not been running for 15 years for $550.

After about two weeks of working on the carbs and getting the rest of the bike ready, I am proud to say the KZ lives.  Its fast as heck and loud as hell.  It has a Kerker 4 into 1 with a competition baffle.  It is totally a fun retro ride.  I am looking forward to riding it on a regular basis as soon as we title it.  My son also managed to find us another project bike with title for free.  Its not as cool as the KZ but heck it was free.  It is a 1982 Yamaha XJ550.  Still sitting under a tarp, but we will get to it soon I hope.

Anyhoo thats where I have been and what I have been doing besides working my ass off.  I hope when we have a meet I can make it out to one on a motorcycle.  Grin

I'm not big on Kawasaki, but the project bike looks cool. Is yours the same color?

Yep the one in the pic is the exact one we picked up.  Minus the stock exhaust.  I'll take some pics soon.

Yep, lets get our crew out with cars, bikes, whatever the hell it takes.

One thing though.

How do you rationalize driving a jap bike to your job at a harley dealership. Doesnt some one give you some shit? I love jap bikes, especially oooooooold hondas. The smaller the displacement, the better I like them. A late 60's 125 would make me consider trading the six.
