After running a season on Falken RT-615's with BMWCCA, I got a deal on a set of kumho V710's (275/40 rear and 245/45 front) on stock roadstars and went to my first SCCA event (Route 66 Raceway) to try them out.
I was able to run the new setup with the TC Kline suspension without too much of a problem. Raised the front ride height and only had a little rub on the wheel liner and on the chassis leg at full lock.
All I can say is WOW!! The difference from road tires is just amazing. There was very little under steer with the staggered setup and the grip out of the corners was very impressive.
There is certainly more speed to come with some tweaking of suspension and tire pressures. (Kept the hot pressures to around 33psi front and 32 rear).
This was the last run of the day and my fastest (good enough for the Class Win in ASP).
Can't wait for next spring...
Check out the save at the end of the run.
