I just came around to building my LEGO Volkswagen Beetle set

Set # 10187
Piece count: 1626
Retail price: 120.00$
Time to complete: 5 hours from start to finish.

Here are the pics of the Build up:

Picture of the Box.

All the pieces laid out

Building the Chassis through step 12

Through step 24

the end of the first instruction book

Interior shot. Features a tilt wheel, and opening glove box, as well as adjustable seats.

Empty Engine compartment

Completed Boxer engine

Roof Built

Finished car

Overall it is a very nice set with alot of unique parts as well for the color, it was an interesting build and i had fun building it. the only problem is that if you are looking for playability, there is not much, the wheels do not turn left or right, it just goes back and forth. It is though, a fantastic display model. and it is worth the price for any LEGO of VW fan. thumbsup

Where'd you pick that up? And did they have a Ghia?

That's freaking awesome, though!

there is no Ghia, this is just one VW Model LEGO offers.

I bought it at the LEGO store in Woodfield mall in Schaumburg, but it is available on LEGO.com

No Ghia? LEGO FTL Thumbs Down  Tongue

That's still a cool model though. I wish they had some lambo's, or an R8

They DO have the Millenium Falcon, its only $550 though.

your wish might come true with the lambo... LEGO signed a contract with Lamborghini for 2009 so there should be a lambo set or two towards the later half of 2009... you did not here this from me. shhh. Lips Sealed

and yes, the millennium falcon is an Awesome set.
