Wanna twin screw?

« on: December 14, 2008, 02:21:04 AM »

well i decided to go out with some friends yesterday mid-day. we were tuning my buddy's '70 Nova after his recent engine swap to a 406 stroker. we finally got done and wanted to take it out to the track and do some runs.

so while we're driving, we come to a traffic light and it turns green. this guy right beside us in his Ford SuperDuty takes off as we're going and all of a sudden, slows down, and turns on his right turn signal for some odd reason (even right now, we don't know what the hell he was doing) and starts vearing over into our lane. both me and my buddy notice that he's a bit close to our rear bumper, but it was too late. he clipped us, spinning us around and into a median. we jumped the median and clipped a tree HARD. hard enough to have my arm go through the passenger side window. we then were thrown back into the street, fortunately nobody was around when we did.

nobody was seriously hurt up until the point my buddy's andrenaline jumped up. from the little we heard from the doctors, he got a little too excited and i guess tore a hole into his heart (remember, we didn't get much info, especially me since i got there later than he did). he does have a slight heart problem which may have contributed to this.

but right now, he's in serious, but stable condition. doctors told us that they will fix whatever problem he's having and he should be fine afterwards. so please guys, keep him and his family in your prayers.

PS. i got somewhat of a serious injury to my arm, but i'll be totally fine. i had quite a large slice in my right arm and there is now 38 stitches in that arm.

the car is absolutely totalled. whole right front knocked in significantly. you can definitely tell there's major structural damage.

That's terrible man. I'm sorry to hear about the accident, but glad no one was seriously injured. Hope your buddy has a quick and pain-free recovery, and the same with you.

kind of hard to get the license plate when you're spinning into a median at over 50mph. Wink

but we did give the cops a fairly good description of the truck and they have put this at the top of the priority list considering my buddy's condition. they said that he could face manslaughter IF my buddy loses his life. but the current charge is felony hit and run right now, which is a pretty serious offense.

i just got back from the shop where the car is at.....most of the car is salvagable. mostly the front clip, the other 3 wheels, engine and tranny, and interior. the engine has a significant dent in the valve covers, but that can be replaced.

oh and another thing, we had dickbags slowing down rubbernecking and saying "SERVES YOU RIGHT, ASSHOLES!". kind of made me wonder.....did these idiots think we were street racing? i mean c'mon. this is one of the busiest roads in my area and they thought we were street racing down it?

i'm about to go to the hospital and check on him. i just got a call from his fiancee saying he's doing alot better after the surgery. he's awake and smiling even though he still has a tube down his throat. i'll get you guys more updates when i get back.

well the doctors misdiagnosed his problems. he had no tear whatsoever. his heart was strained so much that he had a minor heart attack (the guy is only 28 years old). other than that, he's doing just fine. he'll be going home Wednesday. he's getting the tube taken out today.

funny thing is is that his fiancee gave him a notebook for him to write down in since he couldn't speak....

first thing he asked me if the car was alright. i had to tell him the truth and he was absolutely crushed. him and his dad have been working on this car since he turned 16 and they finally were done with it a week ago. so what we're going to do (me and his dad) is tow the car back to his uncle's garage in Clearwater and use it as a donor car. we've already found a few good candidates for this build, some with immaculate paint jobs for real cheap.

I am sorry to hear this.

Whats your friends name? Prayers are always better with a name.

Heart attacks are serious business. No pun intended. The can often leave the heart damaged despite the person surviving. Sorry to say it my friend but fuck the car. Health, safety first. I know its crushing to have your lifes work destroyed, yet, I am sure it can be replaced. From what I know of you and your crew, the car will be fine eventually.

God was watching out for you, Im glad to hear you are back with us buddy.
