The truck?

He didnt want it. Too much gas for the V8. He wanted something economical. This is a 5 speed and is actually not bad inside.

Well, a fresh coat of primer/flat black paint would do the car some good.

How much was it, if I may ask? I would hope sub 1000 for that condition.

And how many miles does she have?

I paid $600 and the inside is actually not too bad. Everything works and the 5 speed tranny is tight. It only has 111k on the clock. Not bad for an '89.

Despite its mismatching body panels, some Fe2O3, and minor dings, its quite a deal for $600. I hope he enjoys it, takes relative good care of it, and stays safe on the road.

The hood isnt mismatched though, it was spray painted. The trunk is damn near perfrect except its white. He wants to paint it and if he can afford it, have at it. I wish my first car was this nice.  dontknow

As long as it runs, and gets him from point A to point B it is fine.

Nice choice! After college when I got a job, my first brand new car was a 1985 Honda Prelude, graphite gray with gray cloth interior, 5-speed. in July of 1986 I moved to Chicago, and in November of that year it was stolen. It was a great car. Occasionally I look for one, same year and color combo - I've never seen one, at least in drivable condition.

Personal trvia: after it was stolen, I was going to use the insurance money to get a black 1983 Porsche 944. My brother talked me out of it. Nearly 20 years later, when I bought my red 1983 944, it was so good I was kicking myself for listening to him. Every tme he tries to give me advice about cars, I bring that up.  Cool

Thank you for all the feedback guys. I would really rather have bought him a 944, but, that is just not practical for an 18 year old who needs a DD. I man not have given it to him had that been the case.  Wink

Personally, I always liked the preludes. The always looked sharp and this is the Si for what its worth. Im sure it was fast at one time, it may still be. I only drove it a quarter mile home from where I bought it and never got over 30mph.  dontknow
