SO its about 2am and i am leaving Genos ( meangean) house. I drive all the way to about 1/3 of a mile away from my house. This whole time i am speeding by maybe like 5 to 10mph. So i get onto these residential streets. As i see that my low beams on the mr2 are horrible i flicker the Hi beams to compare. At this time i am going about 35mph ( 25 speed limit) and my high beam flicker catches a glimpse of a whole familly of deer walking across. I quickly slam the clutch and the brake pedal down. As i approach the deer closer i feel like i am going to hit them. Then i decide to swerve the car right and try to get as close to the curb as i can. The smaller deer start to scatter out of the way while one of the bigger ones just stands there. My Car comes to a complete stop about a yard away from the deer. The deer, standing a yard left of my driver door is staring right at me. In fear of the dear charging me, i drop the clutch and accelarte off. Fifty yards later i pull into a driveway to calm down. So then i look over to the right and 5 yards away there is a midsize deer just standing there. I slowly pull out and go for a short drive. I circled the block, Cam back around to the spot of the incident. This time going 5mph with high beams on. I spotted the skid marks from the tires, and looked right. There i saw the big deer in front of a house. I kept driving to where i pulled into the driveway, and that midsize deer was still standing at the same spot as if it was frozen. So now here i am posting this online being glad that i dont have a deer through my windshield.

The old deer in headlights trick Eh?

Bottom line, you are ok, and secondly by far your car is ok.

You have been implanted with a subliminal fear now, one that I have had for years. When driving anywhere that g-ranimals may appear, the assumption is that the WILL appear.  GOOD MAN!

use your brights til you spot them - if they are just standing there in the road looking at you  and blocking the way- turn them off and they'll clear off - they can't see so they just stand stunned.

also they say if you have no chance of avoiding them dont swurve, drive right at them... i believe it's because you have a better chance of surviving if you hit the deer, instead of driving off the road.
