hey guys...I am looking at this 1993 s4 for sale.  i need some input from you guys as i dont know too much about them.  2.2L 5 cyl, SOHC, quattro,  less than 700 imported in that year <--thats all ive got right now! 

are they reliable?
what kind of turbo?
easy to work on?
will parts will be hard to find...   Embarrassed

finding info is tougher because they dont have thier own forum!  thanks in advance for any help

I would tend to stay away from older Audi's - IMO

Post this on Audiworld.com and there are lots there that can chime in as to way.

I went and looked at the car yesterday - Im pretty set on getting it...i just need to take it to another mechanic to check it out. 
the CEL came on briefly two times while test driving it...
the brakes are a year old, but look glazed and dont feel "sharp"
at startup, its kind of rough idle... i dont know how else to explain it.
black smoke at startup - this should be a problem, right? esp if there is a test pipe on it?

the car is in chicago...i wouldnt be surprised if the owner is on this board.
